Girls in Government

Girls in Government is a program that organizes workshops for 4th and 5th grade girls to teach and inspire them about the basics of government and political science. 

 

Why?

According to Pew, "The U.S. ranks 33rd out of 49 high-income countries when it comes to women in the national legislature." Our program is meant to inspire girls to view government as a place for them across the Bay Area. According to the Girl Scout Research Institute study, "37% of girls want to become a politician, but they need mentors." Our program provides young girls with these mentors.
